The Sanctuary and Community Center at Amala are home to events, workshops and classes focusing upon remembrance, wellness and children’s education. It is located on the grounds of The Amala Foundation at 1006 S. 8th Street (off of Treadwell).

If you’re a yoga teacher looking for space for your yoga class or an instructor looking to offer a workshop, please contact us at events@amalafoundation.org or fill out the Sanctuary Request form.  The Amala Foundation grounds have even served as wedding space for two recent weddings.  So if you’re looking for amazing event or wedding space in Austin, come and see if our lovely grounds will meet your needs.  And the best part?  100% of proceeds from all event space rentals go to support our youth programs.

The Amala Sanctuary is a special place to many people – it is a place for remembrance, authenticity, and contemplation, and serves as the hub for a community in service.

The Sanctuary is available for yoga classes and movement classes, workshops, and other special events.  Event space rental includes use of grounds, floor pillows and backjacks, restroom facilities, and a listing on our online sanctuary calendar.

Please be aware of the following guidelines as you conduct your event here:

• The Sanctuary is open to the public weekdays from 10 am until 5 pm, except for when a class is in session. The Grounds are open weekdays from 10 am until 5 pm. Please be considerate of the nature of the space as you enter and leave the grounds.
• You are responsible for cleaning the space when your class or event is over to prepare it for the next event rental.
• Please be aware that calendar dates may need to shift on rare occasions.
• Please pay for the rental of the event space the day of class. See event space rental rates to the right.

Provided by the space are, cushions for sitting, large carpet to be used or rolled up, yoga mats (about 10) and the outside area has a variety of places to sit, write, play and visit.
