The One Village Project challenges and inspires youth from Iraq, Afghanistan, Cuba, Somalia, Bhutan, Iran, Burma, Colombia, Congo, El Salvador, Guatemala, Kenya, Tibet, Cote d'Ivoire, Nepal, Nigeria, Burundi, South Africa, Mexico, India, Yemen, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States to extend beyond their cultural differences to create One Village united by values of peace, healing, respect, and service.

The youth of the One Village Project meet throughout the year to discuss themes like Hunger, Shelter, Communication, and Environmental Stewardship. Each reunion includes an opportunity to actively serve in the community, often in partnership with local nonprofit organizations such as Caritas, Urban Roots, and the music and arts communities. The program also invites inspirational guest speakers and individuals working for positive change to speak to the youth.

The Amala Foundation offers scholarships to 60% of the youth who participate, based upon financial need. The majority of the youth who receive scholarships are refugee youth who have moved to the United States very recently. This program offers a very valuable tool for integration and healing to the many children who have endured war, poverty, and oppression.
